During the temple maintenance period they planned on reguilding Angel Moroni. The plan was to remove him and reguild him on the ground. However, problems were encountered. It was also quite overcast while they were trying to remove him. Here are a few photos of the process.

Elias is the one on the edge of the roof. He is one of the temple engineers. After a while I couldn't watch anymore because I was afraid he'd fall.
Here they are trying to remove him using the hook on top of his head. He wouldn't budge.
Next, they wrapped two straps around his arms, but they still couldn't lift him. Some of the American workers were saying it was because the crane company had not brought a big enough crane.
They ended up leaving Angel Moroni on top of the temple and reguilded him there.
